While golf is usually considered an individual sport, representing a school team has always been his dream. Being named as MVP of his high school golf team all four years playing, as well as helping his team qualify for the Georgian Bay Championships in 3 of his 4 years with the team. AJ has played many other sports, including soccer, baseball, and hockey. His provincial championship in hockey playing for the city of Barrie was the team highlight of his hockey career, while twice being elected Captain by his peers was his greatest individual accomplishment. His belief in putting team first has always been his priority. His focus is now school and golf. His smooth tempo and exceptional short game have started to pay dividends this year. A second place tie in his Junior Championship qualified him to play in the Barrie Country Club Menís Championship where he excelled against a great field. His final 2 rounds over the weekend were the lowest in the field, moving him up from 28th to 4th place. His placing qualified him for the prestigious George S. Lyon Team Championships at the difficult Bond Head Golf Course. His exceptional round of 75 in the wind and rain placed him tied 4th individually, three shots behind eventual winner and former PGA/CPGA player Ashley Chinner.
