Additional Information:
Michael is an extremely committed student athlete to both his academic and soccer pursuits. He plans to pursue a degree in either Sports Sciences, Exercise Science or Athletic Training in the Fall of 2013. He is an extraordinarily hard working and disciplined individual with exceptional agility and speed over short distances, excellent “first touch”, an ability to keep possession under pressure and superior vision. His preferred position is as an outside midfielder but he can also play in an attacking center midfield role. His coach stated "......not many equal or better Mike's first touch...with the ball at his feet he is hard to beat and defend". Additionally, "...he is a very effective distributor as a holding inside midfielder....his head is ever on a swivel looking to take advantage quickly" He has played with the St. Francis Xavier Soccer Academy team, competitive youth soccer in EIYSA Tier 1 (2004 to 2011) including winning numerous City and Provincial championships and a national Bronze in Futsal as well as competitive mens soccer in EDSA Div 1 and Premier (2010 to 2012). He has also played at the Glasgow Rangers Residential Football Academy in Scotland (Summer 2009) and with the St. Francis Xavier Soccer Academy tour of Italy and England (Summer 2011) playing against various teams including the Parma, Leyton Orient and Charlton Athletic youth teams. He maintained honors throughout high school including a three time St. Francis Xavier 'Highest Scholastic Achievement Award' winner and three time St. Francis Xavier 'Top Honors Award' winner (best 10 students)in 2010, 2011 and 2012, has a 4.0 GPA and in his SAT scored 700 in Math, 680 in Reading and 610 in Writing. He plans on taking his SAT again in January 2013 to improve those scores. Michael's game footage will be available shortly on-line to review.
