Zak is a competitive golfer who wants to pursue a degree in business / golf management from a well established College or University for the fall 2013. He wants to extend his golf career and play at the highest level possible while receiving a quality education. In 2011 Zak shot rounds of 72 and 80 finishing 4th at the Ontario Junior Masters and had several other top finishes at local and regional events. In 2012 Zak had a breakout season with some impressive results including shooting a 71 at the GAO Junior Spring Classic qualifying coming 2nd in a field of 59 and shooting a 73 at the GAO Men's Amateur qualifying with a 73 finishing 8th. He also captured 1st place with rounds of 74 and 70 to win the Peterborough Golf and Country Club Men's Invitational. In high school golf Zak shot 76 at the Dalewood Golf Club regional COSSA qualifier to advance to the OFSAA provincial championships . Zak's current coach for 2 years is Reggie Millage one of Canada's top high performance coaches. Reggie played at Virginia Commonwealth University for 4 years before turning professional playing on the Canadian, Hooters, and Nationwide tour. Reggie describes Zak as a "dedicated young man when it comes to his education and his golf. He is determined and passionate about excelling and continues to improve his skills on and off the course as demonstrated with his international travel for golf competition and continuing education to improve his grades so that he can attain his goal of an American University scholarship for golf". Zak is projected to be playing at the NCAA 2 or NAIA level and will be a strong asset to any golf collegiate program. He maintains a 2.8 GPA and is studying to write his SAT test on January 26th.
