Melissa Bosco is an aggressive and commanding Center Back Defender who takes charge and initiative among her teammates and against her opponents. She is a very vocal and commanding presence on the field, offering her support to her teammates and ensuring that all players are always aware and organized. Melissa is currently playing for Erin Mills Fighting Eagles ’96 under Coach Brent Barry. Her team has won the NEWSS (National Elite Woman’s Soccer Showcase) in New York 2010 and was a finalist in the Ontario Cup in 2011. Her team is also the Ontario Provincial Indoor Cup Champions of both 2012 and 2013; playing in the Under 18 league both years. In 2011, her team placed third in the Dallas Showcase, participated in the Umbro Soccer College Showcase in both 2011 and 2012, and was a finalist of the Disney Soccer Showcase in 2011/2012. Melissa plays a very integral role on her team as she demonstrates a competent, positive leadership role both on and off the field. She is an incredible team player who can take charge in a constructive and affirmative manner and works well with others. She is persistent and never negative, maintaining an optimistic attitude even when the team is down a goal. Melissa displays experienced ball handling skills and uses strength and precision when shooting and is exceedingly capable in using both feet to attack and control the ball. Melissa feels that staying fit, eating healthy and maintaining a strong athletic performance is very important. In addition, Melissa has also taken great pleasure in becoming a ‘Student Coach’ among Elementary School students and feels great satisfaction in working with children, giving them a constructive and fun place to play the game that she herself loves.
