Mary is a developed student athlete who has gained valuable experience in sportsmanship, teamwork, discipline, leadership, and a good work ethic. Her combination of excellence in both academic achievement and athletic competition will make her an excellent asset to any college or university in the Fall 2015. She plans to pursue a degree in Health Sciences (Pre-Dentistry that matches a competitive varsity soccer program with high academic standards. Mary is an incredibly versatile player who can play any position across the midfield. Currently because of her distribution skills and ability to read the attack, she has been playing centre midfield which allows her to utilize her extensive range of passing, ball winning capabilities, aerial strength, and vision, to distribute scoring chances for her team. Mary has an excellent tactical understanding and often thinks ahead of the ball to anticipate passes and opportunities to steal possession. She is familiar playing 4-5-1 and 4-3-3 formations and is comfortable accepting the role as an attacking midfielder or holding midfielder depending on the coaches needs for a particular game, or half. Mary is currently playing for the TSS Academy team who play in the Pacific Coast Soccer League and was asked to try out for the Philippine National team last summer. While maintaining a strong focus on her academics, Mary has been involved in sports especially with soccer. Mary has been playing soccer on the top league in BC soccer organizational structure and has participated in a number of competitions and showcases in the U.S., Canada, Germany, Sweden and Denmark. Mary is presently in grade 11 at Little Flower Academy, a leading independent school and British Columbia’s only Catholic high school exclusively for girls, which ranks among the top 5 of the secondary schools in BC.
