Additional Information:
Matt's main objective is to further his education at a Junior College for the Fall 2014 that balances athletics and academics. He wants to pursue a degree in electrical engineering or coaching while getting the best track and field training possible. Matt is currently training at the Newmarket Huskies Track Club under the guidance of Derek Hackshaw who has helped with technical and mental aspects of preparing for College. In 2009 Matt broke the TDCAA (Toronto District Catholic Athletic Association) 800 meter record with a time of 2:01 and received athlete of the meet at both track and field and cross country TSCAA championships and high school MVP at Michael Power high school. In 2010 and 2011 Matt continued to win numerous awards, including the healthy living award and also obtained his personal best in the 400 m with a 50.05 at the TDCAA championships. In 2012-2013 Matt had personal bests at OFSAA with 1:52 in the 800m and 3:55 in the 1500m and was a member of the 4X400m relay team winning gold at the TDCAA Championships. In his senior year of high school Matt finished 11th at OFSAA at the Cross Country Championships and was presented with an award from Athletics Ontario for achieving a level 9 out of 10 for his personal achievements.
